The Drive (and Walk)

I said that I wanted off the truck. The guide complied. Some people just stayed there and watched from the distance. I could not fathom that. I slowly walked in the direction of these two birds, and just as unhurried, they walked away from me. We both kept it up for some time. The rest of the crew stayed well behind. They didn't have the camera I had. Some are waiting for me to post these pics.

They are called Jabiru. Probably are saying, the fool will never get any closer. And so what, we just fly away if he does....there were very stately, very dignified.

Ok. Enough of this. I have many more, but these are probably the best of the bunch. Not much changes.

This is a Southers Lapwing. As you may have noticed, there were a number of these around

You see how wet it is. That in itself was a limiting factor

I noticed this one 'hiding' in a thin bush and zeroed in. I like it.
